Familiar Cloth

Intricately woven, the fabric of our being,
Slender threads cast by our ancestors;

Like strangers, flung far upon distant horizons,
Familiar as our footprints set behind us in the sand.

You are a spring blossom and I a ripe fruit;
The flower’s bouquet adds to the flavor of the tree’s fruit.

Cherry blossoms dance in the spring breeze;
The late spring snow blushes.

    1. My humblest thanks, Robert. Your kind words are particularly sweet as you were my Muse for the piece. You introduced me to the form.
