The Allure of a Bright Object

nightbottle

It is more than your brightness that draws me from my lonely existence;
For there are, oh so, many bright objects that habitat the world
That attempt to draw me near.
You stand confident in what you are, who you are
So that I need not question the nature of your form
Or wonder whether you will still be there in the morning light;
It is why I do not ask your name
I need not because I am already familiar with you,
This is what draws me out of the shadows and draws me toward
Your unmistakable light.
